"Half the take" ticket sales are usually conducted before the football game,
with the winning ticket drawn at halftime. Double roll tickets are most
commonly used with one side of the ticket printed "ticket" and the other
side printed "keep this coupon". Both sides contain the same serial number
with the customer purchasing the ticket retaining the "keep this coupon"
half while depositing the "ticket" portion into a bucket or container. Usually
there are two price levels for buying tickets. The key here is making the buyer believe he or she is getting a better deal by purchasing the "higher" priced
option. The simplest way is 3 tickets for a $1, or an arms length for $2 which
amounts to about 10-12 tickets. Everybody will buy at least $2 worth. A
standard roll of double tickets contains 2,000 tickets to sell and a roll costs
approximately $4.99. DO NOT, I repeat, DO NOT sell 2 different color half
the take tickets! Nobody likes to hear an announcement that the winning
ticket is blue when they are holding red tickets. Buy a case of tickets at the beginning of the season---all 1 color!
