A Georgia high school player who ripped an opponents helmet off and beat him with it could be facing criminal charges, according to a news report from Tom Weir of the USA TODAY.
Colerain’s 61-game home winning streak came to an abrupt end as St. Xavier won a thriller 17-14. Colerain missed a 45 yard filed goal with under a minute left to play in what is sure to be remembered as a classic Ohio high school football game.
Don Bosco Prep (NJ) kept a firm hold on its No. 1 ranking in the country by defeating Mission Viejo (CA) 35-7 and running their winning streak to 36 games.
A player to to keep an eye on is QB Brice Ramsey from Camden County High School. The 6′ 3″, Class of 2013 football player had received DI offers before he even started his first high school game. He accepted a scholarship offer to Georgia at one of the school’s recruiting camps this past summer.
University of Kentucky recruit Josh Harris, running back/free safety from Mason County High School (KY) was injured last week while coming down after going up for a pass. Unfortunately, for Harris, the injury was severe enough to cause him to miss the rest of the season.
More bad news from Kentucky as Ryle High School star running back Travis Elliott will also miss the rest of the season after tearing the anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee. Elliott was was chasing Shaun Alexander’s northern Kentucky rushing record, but will now end up with 4,745 yards, about 1,900 short from catching Alexander.
