Webb turned in a record-setting performance in the Blazers' 44-24 win over Rice. He broke the C-USA single-game record for rushing yards by a quarterback with 194 (on 20 carries), passed for 221 yards and accounted for four touchdowns. Webb ran for a pair of scores (15 and 71 yards) and threw for two more (9 and 22 yards). Nationally, Webb had the second-best rushing total, second-best total offense performance (415 yards) and second-best pass efficiency effort (247.8) for the week.

PARKERSBURG -A downtown bicycle/walking trail will be extended to the city limits thanks to a state grant. The city has received a $180,000 grant from the West Virginia Department of Highways to construct a portion of the Little Kanawha connector trail. PARKERSBURG - In 1989 Wood County Schools passed a nearly $10 million bond to replace roofs on all of the district's schools. Now, 20 years later, the district again is looking at roof replacements for its 27 schools and how best to pay for the work. Lawrence Hasbargen, assistant superintendent of maintenance and facilities, said the district typically does roof replacements every 20-25 years.

VIENNA - Although the United Way Alliance of the Mid-Ohio Valley fell short of its goal last year, hopes are high a slightly lower goal will be reached at a time when some economists say the economy may be looking up. Jason Lewis, 2009-2010 campaign chairman, announced a goal of $700,00 during Tuesday's campaign kickoff breakfast at Grand Pointe Conference Center in Vienna.

ST. MARYS - St. Marys Police Department is looking for a man they believe tried to abduct a young boy early Wednesday evening. At around 6:35 p.m., police were alerted to a possible attempted abduction on Washington Street close to St. Marys Elementary School, police Chief Bill Stull said. Children were playing on the school playground when a 10-year-old boy was leaving on his bike.
