Former Bailey football coach dies in car accident
Charles Rosser coached a variety of sports at Bailey, including an 11-year stint as the school's football coach that ended after the 2007 season.
I got to know Coach Rosser over the years — often when he was keeping the book at Bailey's home basketball games — and he was one of the more easygoing guys you'd ever meet. Even though the deck was stacked against the Knights in football, I never heard Rosser complain about the difficulties.
One of the highlights during Rosser's time was Bailey reaching the Class 3A playoffs in 2005. Unfortunately, the coach missed the first-round game against Greene County because he was injured in a freak collision in practice with an overzealous freshman. True to his nature, Rosser laughed about the incident when I asked him about it later.
From reading the comments about the story linked above, it's obvious Charles Rosser inspired a lot of kids during his coaching and teaching career. What a great legacy to have.
